Looking to buy a home this year? Before you begin your search you will need to make sure you have at least these 3 items:
Get connected with a LOCAL lender (emphasizing local) to help get you pre approved and fully underwritten. Why a local lender? Because they will have firsthand knowledge on the area you are looking in, and what is required in each area. A lender in Idaho can get you pre approved, yes, but they won’t know what the market is like here in the Bay Area. To ensure a successful close, it is important to have a local lender.
Have a down payment ready to go. Now, this will depend on your pre approval and conversation with your lender, but typically, we see down payments anywhere from 10%-50% down. However, there are options for lower down payments! Be sure to research what loan product is right for you and your financial goals
Another thing you will need is a Real Estate agent (aka us ) but honestly, getting connected with a local real estate agent who is knowledgeable in the areas you are interested in can make all the difference in the world
