As moms who double as business owners it is hard for us to find time in our day to make sure we eat, let alone pamper ourselves. Sometimes I am lucky if I am even able to scrape the time to put a brush through my hair while trying to balance taking care of my family and my business. We need to make it mandatory for us to make time for ourselves and some well deserved self care. When I am treating myself, I hit my favorite one stop shop, the Beauty Lounge over on 2417 Broadway Street in Redwood City.

I’ve been going here for years! I get my hair done, my makeup done, my eyebrows done, and even a manicure and pedicure. They really offer everything you could need to feel like the best version of yourself and make it easy especially for us moms who don’t have the time to rush off to several different places to get our needs met. The services they offer include: bridal, hair, hair extensions, hair treatments and texture, makeup, styling, as well as waxing.

One of my favorite things about the Beauty Lounge is the atmosphere. You walk into this beautifully decorated salon and are instantly greeted with friendly faces. It is also a family owned and operated business, by a fellow super mom which warms my heart and now more than ever our local businesses need our support. It is nice to go to a salon where the people there can also relate to your struggle of being a mother and owning a business. The owner’s sixteen year old daughter even started her own hair care line which is now being sold at the shop. How cool is that?

The shop is typically open Tuesday 9am-7pm, Wednesday 9am-7pm,Thursday and Friday 9am-7pm, Saturday 8am-6pm, and closed Sunday and Monday. I know that these are scary and uncertain times for everyone, but it is important to band together and support each other. One way to support a small business is by buying a gift card to use when things finally get back to normal! I am sure we will all be needing some pampering to destress after everything we are going through now.
